Paving the way to the 'new normal'…

With social distancing measures still in place in some locations in addition to the widely publicised national shortage of drivers, some deliveries can take a little longer than usual. This is affecting certain areas of the country more than others.

Due to the influx of Covid cases in India in combination with extreme increases in the price of international shipping affecting global distribution, stocks of many products are running out and there may be a short wait whilst these are replenished. The majority of our orders and delivery times are running smoothly, albeit with a longer lead-time on some products. We are doing our best to keep our website up to date with current stock information.

Phone calls, emails and live chat…

We understand that it is very tempting to chase orders, it is very exciting when you know your new products are on the way to you! Our phone lines, emails and live chat functions are busier than usual, so please be patient and we will try to help you as quickly as we can. Please only use one means of communicating as our helpdesk system will collate all contact, so if you contact us in multiple ways this will only add to the time it takes to deal with enquiries.

Information about how the current exceptional conditions are affecting our business.

Global shipping has been badly affected by a shortage of container ships and an increase in prices as a direct consequence of Covid-19. Remember, the rest of the world is still badly affected by Covid and this impacts the availability of many of our goods
Our manufacturers cannot replenish their products as quickly as the current demand requires which is especially affecting Indian stone products as a result of the massive outbreak of Covid in India. Raw materials for other manufacturing processes are also affected by severe shortages. This means some items have longer lead times, whereas other have been removed altogether. This has led to some stocks being unavailable at short notice.
All transport networks are struggling to keep up with the increase in demand. This is coupled with a national shortage of drivers caused by the lack of new drivers being able to qualify to enter the industry as a direct effect of Covid. Further to this, the UK employed many European drivers prior to Brexit and as a result of tax changes in April this year, the majority of overseas workers returned to their home country leaving the UK with a shortage of drivers. This means our deliveries are sometimes taking longer to arrive with you than anticipated.

We kindly ask that you do not become abusive to our staff at this time as this is a very difficult and challenging period for all of us and we want nothing more than to deliver your goods as quickly as we would during normal operation.
