Brand Information
Ketley clay pavers have an inherent natural beauty and strength. Widely used by the Victorians beside their canal and railway systems and in their industrial and urban developments, Ketley pavers have passed the ultimate test - the test of time.
Ketley pavers are manufactured to the highest standards in the UK and are available in Staffordshire Blue, Staffordshire Red or Brown Brindle colours and in a variety of finishes and patterns.
With most paving projects, over 80% of the expense is in the laying and fitting, so choosing a high quality paver, where the colour does not fade over time, will only marginally affect the initial cost.
The continuing popularity of Ketley Pavers lies in their strength, durability, and lasting colour.
Material Information
Clay Description:
Clay minerals are formed over long periods of time by the gradual chemical weathering and breakdown of rocks. Clay paving is produced through a process that involves extracting, refining, and shaping natural clay materials into durable and aesthetically pleasing paving units. The process typically starts with the extraction of clay from deposits in the earth, where it is mixed with water and then passed through a series of filters to remove any impurities. It is then pressed into the desired shape and fired in a kiln at high trmperatures to harden and strengthen it. The result is a high-quality paving material that is both aesthetically pleasing and long-lasting.
Clay Colours:
The colours of clay pavers are a delightful array of warm, earthy tones that exude a sense of natural charm and elegance. Each hue is unique, bearing the mark of the clay's origin and the manufacturing process.
Terracotta tones - this classic brick-red paver colour radiates warmth and richness. These pavers have a timeless appeal, evoking images of historic cityscapes and rustic farmhouses. Their warm tones can also create a cosy and inviting atmosphere in any outdoor space.
Golden-buff hues - clay pavers in this colour range bring a sense of light and ambience to the paved area. These pavers have a cheerful and optimistic feel, perfect for creating a bright and lively atmosphere. They also complement natural surroundings, such as gardens and wooded areas, beautifully.
Rich brown tones - the deep, rich browns of these clay pavers provide a sense of comfort and security. These pavers create an earthy, natural feel that is perfect for creating a relaxing and calming atmosphere. Their dark tones also add a sense of depth and richness to the paved area.
Soft grey shades - The muted greys of this range of clay pavers add a subtle and understated touch of elegance to the paved area. These pavers create a calm and soothing environment that is perfect for creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere. They also blend in beautifully with natural surroundings, and work well with natural tones of plants and water.
Charcoal grey hues - The colours of dark grey and charcoal pavers are striking and sophisticated, with a modern edge that can add depth and contrast to a paved area. These pavers have a dramatic and contemporary feel that can complement a range of architectural styles, both indoors and out.
With clay paving, some products are suitable for both pathways and driveways whereas others are suitable for pedestrian use only. Be sure to read the product description to ensure you choose the correct product for your requirements.
