Similarly, natural stone can contain broken or misshapen pieces, however it's important not to inspect each piece of stone individually and rather look at the overall impact once in place.

The sizes of natural stone aggregate products such as gravels, pebbles, cobbles and boulders are approximate and conform to British Standard grading systems which mean that they are passed through a sieve to allow stones of the correct size to fall through. Depending upon the stone shape, larger pieces may fall though the sieve if they are the correct measurement in at least one direction.
