When the packs of paving are delivered, natural stone will be stacked vertically on edge within the crate.
Open the crates from the top and NOT the sides. Remove the goods evenly from the centre of the pack to ensure the weight remains distributed across the crate. Avoid leaving paving in just one side of the pallet as this may cause it to tip. NEVER open from the side as this will cause the entire contents to fall from the crate which is not only dangerous, but will also break the paving.
Porcelain paving is usually packed in individual boxes containing one or two slabs and then stacked on a pallet partly horizontally and partly vertically. Again care needs to be taken when removing the plastic wrap and banding to ensure perimeter paving is not allowed to fall. Ensure the pallet is unloaded evenly to prevent tipping.
